Dowdy's Fun Committee Events

Life is Short… Then we Retire… but in the meantime let’s have a little fun. The Dowdy’s Fun Committee is a small group of us who plan fun group events we all can participate in annually. Fun Committee events have no business purpose… they are 100% social and designed to get us together on a social basis outside of work. It is John’s belief that the team that plays together stays together… and works better together as well. All costs are sponsored by Dowdy’s… just come and join us for a Dowdy’s Fun time! 

Each year Dowdy’s will sponsor a few fun committee events. Some will be for employees only while others include employee and spouse/significant other and some are designed for the whole family. Check out our upcoming events and see some of our past events!

Family BBQ:

 We had so much fun, and there was so much food, no one remembered to take pictures!  We’ll try again next year! 

TopGolf:

It took a while to upload pictures, but here we are! We had a fun time at Top Golf earlier this month. There was a great turnout and a nice evening weather-wise. We can’t wait for next time!

2023 Past Events:  

Go Kart Racing:
Lots of competition at our Go Karting event.  Lots of fun was had and we even had a special guest . . . Mario!  Watch out next year, we hear Luigi may be there too!

Paella Night:
A great time was had by all at our Paella night!  Thanks everyone for coming out.  We’re looking forward to our next event.  Stay tuned . . .

Holiday Party:
We had a great time at the Steelheads hockey game on Saturday, January 14, 2023.  The Steelheads won against the Utah Grizzlies 4-0!!

2022 Past Events:  

Paella Cooking Night:
A fun night at the Basque Market in downtown Boise where a demonstration of the fine art of cooking Spanish Paella is provided… and then we get to eat it all up. This is a popular annual event for employee and spouse/so.  

RibFest:
An annual early summer event held at John and Michelle Davis’s home in central Boise. Those of us with grill skills host a fabulous Ribs, Brisket and Pulled Pork feast with all the side dishes and beverages. A bounce house is raised for the kids and the employee and their immediate family is invited to participate.  

Shooting Night at the Range:
Shotgun Trap Shooting after work one evening at the public shooting range off Kuna Road. This is a fun time to see how bad your peers actually are at hitting a clay pigeon. By the end of the event our shots have improved somewhat but most importantly we have a great time and a fine BBQ dinner on the backs of our trucks out at the range.
